Are you trying to draw up a plan for your next career move, brainstorming business ideas, or planning for the months to come? Then you’ve come to the right place. In this article, I’ll share with you how you can start up your life, business or career design.

Before we jump into making meaningful connections and insights, we must first have the data to look into. In the Discover page of this website, I shared some resources you can use to journey within you. If you’ve done these activities, you can make sure of your outputs or reflections for this activity.

Making meaningful connections is all about looking for patterns and themes in our lives, and coming up with insights on these. This is actually   one of the beautiful things that happen during a coaching conversation. A good coach should be able to draw some insights simply by asking questions and making meaningful connections with your answers. If you’re not ready for that yet, here are some reflection points that can help you.

Highs and Lows. Look back at the highs and lows in your life. Do you notice any common triggers, feelings or patterns during these times? What are the events that actually make you happy and fulfilled? What are the events that made you feel down or disappointed?

Work that sparks joy. Out of all the jobs or activities that you’ve done in the past, which one brought you so much joy? What is it in that job or activity that made it joyful for you?

Decisions, decisions, decisions. What were the toughest decisions you made? What made these tough? How did you make these decisions? Were there decisions that you regret? Were there decisions that you were proud of?

What matters most. What comes first to you — family? career? faith? success? money? wellness? How did you show priority or importance of these things during the good and the bad days of your life?

After answering all these questions, read through it again and look for common themes or patterns in the way you think or behave. What insights can you draw? How can you use these insights as you create your plan?
